Catfish rig

Our neighbor’s nearly foolproof rig for catching cat fish. I really like the light trails that the bugs are leaving in front of the flood lights.

clearly I am behind on the fishing times!
When I was younger and I use to do a lot of lake fishing up in Oklahoma we woud never pull out the light while sitting on a bank or dock. The thought was that it would "scare away" the fish. Kept it quiet too! "They might hear you!" ha.
But when I went out last night clearly those rules dont apply anymore or its just different for coastal fishing.
Generators and high beamed lights as well as bonfires and music seemed to be the norm. Now Ill admit I saw like 2 people catch a fish so I dont know what the ideal situation is.
But it was fun and interesting to take in.

all to himself
he could see my silhouette up on the ridge and kept looking at me from time to time. Im sure he was a bit confused and also afraid I could run off with his light and generator. When I was leaving I yelled to him that I took his photo and he acknowledged that "I see you". I said I know and I left him my email in case he wanted a photo. He said thanks and went back to fishing and I went home.
